State haberdashery factory “Pakaita” was founded in 1945 December 23th. At that moment the company was making ​​laces.

  • In 1946 factory “Pakaita” was expanded and started to produce elastic tape.
  • Since 1948 June 30th the factory was called the textile – fancy factory and began producing material for ties, scarves and shawls.
  • In 1953 the company acquired curtain knitting machines and at the same year started to knit curtains. The activity was continued until 2002.
  • In 1967 the company acquired the hosiery knitting machines and began to knit scarves and hats for children.
  • In 1975 October 1th, such companies as “Audimas”, “Trikotažas”, Kelme knitwear factory and Socks factory “Silva” were combined into A. Šiaučiūnaitė knitwear production association. “Pakaita” was accepted into association as curtain knitting manufactory.
  • In 1991 there was a reorganization of the knitwear factory Silva, the curtain knitting manufactory separated and the state knitwear company “Pakaita” commenced operations. It was privatized in 1992 and named the joint-stock company “Pakaita”.
  • In 1990 – 1992 the new sewing and knitting units commenced operations, which are working up successfully to this day.
  • JSC “Pakaita” managing director is Algimantas Svilainis.
